Frequently asked questions
How do I generate and translate subtitles?
Upload audio or video, generate subtitles, open the project, and choose a target language to translate saved subtitles. Direct SRT, VTT, or ASS upload and batch translation are not supported. Each project keeps only its latest successful translation.
What can I export?
SubtitleBro supports SRT, VTT, ASS, TXT, and DOCX exports. Choose original, translated, or bilingual content. DOCX transcripts include timestamps and existing speaker labels. TXT exports contain plain text without timestamps. Subtitle exports can split long subtitles at sentence or word boundaries to fit your maximum subtitle duration. Saved exports count toward your storage usage.
Does removing media remove my subtitles?
Removing media deletes the original file and its audio preview, freeing up their storage. Saved subtitles, translations, summaries, exports, and active text share links remain available. Project text has a separate retention period. Deleting the entire project also deletes its text and disables sharing.
How are annual subscriptions and upgrades billed?
Annual subscriptions are billed in full, and usage allowances reset monthly. After successful payment, an upgrade or a switch from monthly to annual billing starts a new billing cycle and resets monthly plan allowances. You are charged the full new price. Unused time and allowances from the old plan are not credited, refunded, or carried over. The old subscription stops renewing. You can turn off auto-renewal in Billing. Your paid plan stays active until the period ends, then your account switches to Free.
